Designer

Background

I was born and raised (eating lots of borsht) in Kyiv, Ukraine. Because as a child, I was really into art and math🤓, I ended up studying Industrial and Product Design, that needed both sides of my brain to be engaged, at RISD in Providence, RI.

My first job out of college was designing 3D printing software for a company called Stratasys, I got to combine my industrial design skills and my growing passion for UX design there. Most recently I spent almost 5 years in Singapore working at Southeast Asia’s unicorn company Grab.

I’m currently living in Austin, TX and contemplating on what kind of pet to adopt soon. But my dad, who lives in Philly, has a pitbull dog Candy (see the photo below).

My favorite meals

• I have developed love for all kinds of asian food, favorites would be hot pot, k bbq, and more unique SEA dishes like Nasi Lemak and Hokkien Mee 🤤
• Also I can go for good handmade pasta any day 👌🏻
• Tuna/Salmon Poke Bowls are my most favorite “heathy” choice for lunches

What I’ve been learning about lately

• I’ve been learning how to use Webflow and animation, as I was building my own portfolio website. Had a lot of fun with it!
• Also I just joined a book club in Austin and we’re currently reading The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu (the novel that the netflix show is based on!), and it’s been an interesting dive into sci-fi for me🤓

I love traveling and have travelled to almost 40 countries (mostly Europe and Asia). This photo is from my recent trip to Hong Kong - The view from the Lion Rock

Biking in nature is one of my favorite activities 🚲🚲🚲

I do a lot of urban sketching too, you can follow my progress here 🌝

But I do a lot of other random art from acrylic paintings to ceramics and furniture making, my hobby/obsession usually changes every few months hehe

I love going to music/art festivals, and (fun fact!) have been to Burning Man in 2017 with my team at my first company 😅 Best time ever!
