Background

I live in San Francisco with my wife and better two-thirds, Ana. We have a dog, Luca, who is a world-class napper and a pretty good companion too.

I was a math major (nerd alert 🚨) at Princeton University and started my Master’s in electrical engineering at Stanford before dropping out to join Nest as a software engineer when its “office” was a garage in Palo Alto. I grew with the company from the garage days through acquisition by Google. I returned to startup life in 2018 as the VP of Software for a startup that exited with an acquisition. Now I’m building Fay 🙂

What I’ve been learning about lately

My Superpowers (things I’m really good at…)

  1. Understanding someone else’s point of view
  2. Keeping calm in the midst of chaos
  3. Picking up skills outside of my formal education and work background

What Makes Me Feel...

Emotion What makes me feel or act this way?
Satisfied Getting work done at a rapid pace; not leaving loose ends to tie up later; seeing the impact of my work and the team’s work
Frustrated Things taking longer than I feel they should; hitting snags that slow down work; observing a lack of attention to detail

What do people sometimes misunderstand about me that I want to clarify?
