Should you wish to proceed with applying for a PA license, here are a few pointers that might be helpful:

• Register for a new Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) account here. You will receive an email confirmation once your account has been created.
• Once you’ve confirmed your account and logged in:
  • Click Apply for a New License
    • Board / Commission: State Board of Nursing
    • License Type: Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN)
    • Obtained by: Licensure
  • Finish the form, upload necessary documentation, and submit $95 payment online
• Documents you will need in order to apply for a PA license:
  • CDR license verification sent directly to the Board
  • Fingerprint-based FBI background check
    • Register for fingerprinting through IdentoGO using service code: 1KGF29. Be sure to bring accepted ID (List here)
    • After you are fingerprinted, upload your confirmation receipt to your application before submitting it.
  • Official transcript from the college or university of your dietetic education sent directly to the Board
  • Proof of Child Abuse Continuing Education
    • You must complete 3 hours of approved training by the Department of Human Services (DHS) on child abuse recognition and reporting. A list of DHS-approved child abuse education providers can be found on the Department of State Website.
