Background

Hello! My name is Ruchi, and I currently live in San Francisco with my husband David.

For background, I grew up in NorCal in Pleasanton before attending Yale for undergrad. I started my career in finance in NYC, working at Goldman Sachs as a technology investment banker and Warburg Pincus as a technology investor. I worked a lot, I learned a lot, and I made great friends during those formative years. I then went to Stanford Graduate School of Business, during which I decided to jump into operating. I joined Covariant, a deep tech AI company building the OpenAI for robotics. While there, I held multiple roles, including leading strategic finance, business operations, FP&A, and RevOps.

Outside of work, my day-to-day revolves around Pure Barre, friends/family, TV, books, and weekly date nights with my husband. I also love chasing new experiences, whether that’s travel or local activities. Some of my favorite recent experiences have been hiking through the Dolomites and learning trampoline tricks at House of Air in SF.

I’m at Fay to build out the finance function. I am so excited to be a part of this rockstar team!

My favorite meals

• Suan Cai Yu - a delicious Chinese pickled fish dish that I discovered 2 months ago
• Sushi - I love sushi so much that it is the reason (a) I learned Japanese and (b) became pescatarian instead of vegetarian
• All Indian food, especially my Mom’s homecooked meals. Every time I visit my parents, I return with loads of food!

What I’ve been learning and reading about lately

• Cooking - I was on the meal plan throughout college and had most of my meals paid for by my companies in my 20s. Suffice to say, I have minimal experience. The last thing I searched on YouTube was how to chop a shallot for this recipe
• Dance - I used to be an avid dancer in my youth, and I am looking to get back into it. My husband and I recently went to a tango class!
